"The record store guy used to play 'Smoke on the Water' all day on his bass guitar and it would drive me crazy, but it was a great block. It was very different," he said. That's clear from looking at the block, which has seen other longtime businesses, including Wolfe's Barbeque, Jerry's Record Exchange and Taki's Japanese restaurant, close in the past five years.
