Oculus Rift, the virtual reality headset acquired by Facebook earlier this year, may soon be joining IMAX and 3D glasses as Hollywood's newest plaything. Facebook has recently met with film studios and directors about creating Rift-specific content, tech news site The Information reported . Citing four people with knowledge of the recent meetings, The Information reported that Facebook pitched developing "Oculus experiences" to accompany feature films, with an eye toward eventually releasing whole movies for the device. These conversations, the site said, are in the preliminary stages and it is "unlikely" that Facebook has signed any firm deals. "If the Rift can't be a billion dollar franchise, they may never be truly interested."
